Finally, it’s time to go to Austria! We waited long enough for this holiday and we cannot wait to go hiking and to enjoy the alps.
The first day was nice and warm and we arrived in the evening in Bregenz at our friend Hannes’s place. We took the bikes and drove to Lake Constance (Bodensee) to refresh from the long drive from Northern Germany. The water was so pleasantly and the sunset was simply amazing. Afterwards, we finished the day with a nice and absolutely tasty barbecue.
Early on Saturday morning we drove by car to Buchs in Switzerland to meet up with our friends Karin and Martin who live in Switzerland. After two wonderful days in Switzerland we then drove back to Bregenz.
Again we went swimming in Lake Constance. Hannes mother made incredible tasty “Keesknöpfle”, a kind of cheese spaetzli, a regional delicacy. We felt so Austrian, drinking Austrian beer and eating Austrian food! The next day we wanted to start exploring Vorarlberg, the westernmost federal state of Austria. We cannot wait!
Bregenzerwald
Monday morning, we left early to meet with Katrin from Vorarlberg tourism board in Brgenzerwald. We had a fantastic breakfast in the panorama restaurant in Bezau. Afterwards we went on a nice circular track where we could have a look at the beautiful surroundings. We were really lucky with the weather. A nice and sunny day and we had a great view around.
After the Bregenzerwald we continued our holidays in Lech/ Zürs and to the Klostertal.
